    Cool Heswall is a relaxed and welcoming community event taking place at the beautiful Hill House Gardens (CH60 0AF) in Heswall, bringing people together to enjoy a day of local creativity, wellbeing, conversation, and community spirit. Set within the stunning surroundings of the gardens, the event offers visitors the chance to explore a variety of stalls, organisations, activities, and information stands while enjoying a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

    Designed to encourage connection and awareness within the local community, Cool Heswall provides a space for people of all ages to meet others, discover local initiatives, and enjoy a positive day out in one of Wirral’s most picturesque settings. Whether attending to learn more about community projects, support local groups, or simply enjoy the environment and atmosphere, visitors can expect a warm welcome throughout the day.

    Staffordshire and Moorlands is an area that like so many others will be impacted by the Peak Cluster project. We will be visiting on 13th June!

    It is vital that we reach out and visit people there – to answer your questions, provide insight and advice, and to generally further the campaign to stop this.

  • AACCS Roadshow – High Peak

    We are taking Action Against CCS on the road!

    This time, we are heading for the hills – literally – on 14th June.

    The proposed Peak Cluster Pipeline will be starting in the High Peak area, and so it is crucial to the campaign against it that we meet with local residents. Watch this space, as more information will be coming soon!

    The Great Wirral Dip is a fun, community-focused seaside event bringing people together along the beautiful Wirral coastline for a memorable mass sea dip in support of awareness, wellbeing, and local causes. Whether you’re taking the plunge for charity, personal challenge, or simply to be part of the atmosphere, the event promises a fantastic day filled with community spirit, laughter, and plenty of brave faces heading into the water together.

    Open to all ages and abilities, The Great Wirral Dip celebrates everything people love about the peninsula — fresh sea air, coastal scenery, and a strong sense of local community. Spectators, families, and supporters are all welcome, making it not just a dip, but a full day of encouragement, connection, and shared experience on the shore.

    This event is at 1pm on 4th July, at Wallasey Beach Club, Coastal Drive, CH45 3PZ.

    High tide is 8.4m at 14:20.

    Wallasey Beach Club will do all that they can to ensure that this is an accessible event, to get up onto the footpath but this is depends upon weather and sand blowing in.
    The footpath is accessible from Derby Pool Car Park, CH45, 3QS.

    Action Against CCS will be present, and will be pleased to meet you! We may even have some members participating!

    ACTION AGAINST CARBON CAPTURE & STORAGE (AACCS)

    Community Dip – Safety Notice

    Saturday 4 July 2026 | 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

    Thank you for attending today’s community dip.

    This is a voluntary community event. While AACCS has taken reasonable steps to promote a safe and enjoyable gathering, all participants enter the water entirely at their own risk.

    Please read the following safety information before entering the water.

    Children

    Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied and actively supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Parents and guardians remain fully responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the children in their care.

    Water Safety

    Even on a warm day, the sea can be extremely cold.

    Please be aware of the risk of cold water shock, which can affect anyone regardless of swimming ability. To reduce the risk:

    • Enter the water slowly and allow your body time to adjust.
    • Do not jump or dive into the water.
    • Never enter the water alone. Swim or paddle with others wherever possible.
    • Stay within your own abilities and avoid venturing into deeper water.
    • Leave the water immediately if you feel cold, faint, short of breath, experience cramp or feel unwell.

    Do not enter the water if you:

    • Have consumed alcohol or drugs.
    • Feel unwell or have a medical condition that could affect your safety.
    • Are unsure of your swimming ability.

    Please also be aware of:

    • Changing tides and sea conditions.
    • Slippery rocks, seaweed and uneven surfaces.
    • Other water users, including boats and paddle craft.

    Wear suitable footwear where appropriate and protect yourself from the sun by drinking plenty of water, using sunscreen and taking breaks in the shade.

    Emergency

    If you witness someone in difficulty:

    • Dial 999 immediately and ask for the Coastguard.
    • Do not enter the water to attempt a rescue unless you are trained and it is safe to do so.
    • Alert an AACCS event volunteer, who will assist in directing the emergency services to the location.

    There may be camera crews and photographers capturing images at this event. Your presence constitutes your permission to be filmed or photographed and that your likeness may be used as part of a record of the event and ongoing promotion or publicity of the aims of ACTION AGAINST CCS only. This permission is granted in perpetuity and across all media.

  • Great Meols Summer Fair

    Great Meols Primary School’s annual Summer Fair is a family-friendly community event featuring fun games, stalls, food, and plenty of community spirit for all ages. It’s a great opportunity to get involved locally, and you don’t need to have children at the school to attend.
