Starting locations, times and maps for each section to follow soon.

A simultaneous relay event to raise awareness and show strength in numbers across all communities affected by the Peak Cluster pipeline proposal. Residents, farmers, businesses and community groups from across Derbyshire, Cheshire and Wirral will come together for the Great Pipeline Walk from Hope Valley to Leasowe Lighthouse.

The event will be split into 5 different sections:

High Peak,
Cheshire East,
Cheshire West,
Chester,
Wirral

Each section will be coordinated by local volunteers. Participants will be able to join or leave the event at designated points throughout the day, making it accessible to people of all ages and abilities.

To help ensure the safety of participants, organisers have planned routes using existing roads, pavements, footpaths and public rights of way wherever possible.

Whether people choose to walk an entire section, cycle, horse ride, bring the dog, join us for a short distance, or simply come along to support those taking part, everyone is welcome. This is intended to be a positive, peaceful and family-friendly community event.

Action Against CCS hopes this event will reflect the wide range of communities affected by the proposed project, bringing together residents, farmers, businesses, equestrian groups, cyclists, dog walkers and community organisations from across the route. We are stronger together.

The Wirral section of the Great Pipeline Walk will begin in Heswall 9 am and finish at Leasowe Lighthouse, approximately 4pm.

Supporters who are unable to take part in the event itself are warmly invited to join participants at Leasowe Lighthouse for a community picnic and celebration of the day’s achievement. Families, friends and local residents are encouraged to come along, meet people from across the route and show their support.

Following the picnic, participants and supporters are invited to continue the day’s conversations at The Ship, Hoylake, from 6pm onwards for an informal opportunity to relax, reflect on the day and celebrate the communities that have come together along the route.
