A 200 km pipeline, carrying CO₂ emissions, is proposed to run through
Wirral to a new purpose-built AGI (above ground installation - a huge industrial complex) in Meols, before being transported offshore via pipeline.
The pipeline will run from industrial sites in Derbyshire and Staffordshire, through
Cheshire and Wirral, and aims to transport 3 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually
from cement and lime plants, with operations starting around 2032.
Action Against CCS is a committee run, democratic, formalised local campaign action group who oppose CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) in all of it's forms, and in particular the construction of potentially lethal CO₂ pipeline corridors and industrial AGI units that will put at risk and spoil our local areas, all around the UK.
We mean business and we will not be standing still or wasting time. We are well equipped with the skills needed to represent, assist, and support the people in our communities and we will make it clear to all parties why these CCS plans should not continue or be implemented.

Where does my donation go?
Action Against Carbon Capture and Storage Limited is a campaign group incorporated as a company limited by guarantee (Company Number 17120749, registered in England and Wales), working to ensure that community concerns relating to Carbon Capture & Storage — and in particular (but not limited to) the Peak Cluster/MNZ Project — are properly considered and represented across all areas affected by the proposed pipeline route.
We represent the interests of communities along the full extent of the proposed development, which passes through multiple regions across England and Wales. We work to ensure that the voices of all affected residents and stakeholders are heard throughout the planning and consenting process.
We are seeking voluntary contributions to help cover the reasonable costs associated with this work. This includes communications and awareness activity, community engagement, instructing independent experts, commissioning reports, and obtaining professional advice and representation such as legal, planning, or technical review, to better understand and respond to proposals.
All contributions will be used solely to support the activities of the company in connection with these purposes. As a company limited by guarantee, we are not a registered charity, and contributions are made on a voluntary basis and are not eligible for Gift Aid. All financial decisions, including the allocation and expenditure of donated funds, are made collectively by the company’s directors and are subject to committee agreement.
We are committed to acting transparently and responsibly. Any funds remaining after all relevant costs, including legal and professional expenses, have been met will be donated to selected charities and environmental organisations. These organisations will be chosen by the company’s directors and committee, and details of such donations will be made publicly available.
